Three Are Injured in Moderate Quake
From Times Wire Reports
An earthquake shook Tokyo early today, injuring at least three people, officials said.
The 5.1-magnitude quake, centered in northwestern Chiba state, caused no significant damage, the Meteorological Agency said. But it was strong enough to sway tall buildings for about 30 seconds in downtown Tokyo and other cities north of the capital.
Japan is one of the world’s most earthquake-prone nations. A quake of magnitude 5 can cause damage to homes if it hits a heavily populated area.
