From Times Wire Reports

Senior British minister Clare Short, who fiercely criticized Prime Minister Tony Blair over war in Iraq, quit the government.

Blair’s office said Short called Blair to tell him of her decision. It said Baroness Amos, a junior Foreign Office minister, would replace the outspoken Short.

Short called Blair “reckless” for backing the war in Iraq and said she would resign if a U.N. resolution authorizing military action was not secured. That resolution never came, but Short backtracked and decided to stay.
