Golden hour for ‘Grotesque’

The beautiful people were in the house at the Key Club on Monday to help Marilyn Manson celebrate his latest opus, “Golden Age of Grotesque.” He offered his fans a sneak preview of new material before launching into such signature songs as “Beautiful People” and “Dope Show.” On hand to sing along with Manson were Scott Weiland, Nine Inch Nails, Puddle of Mudd and KORN. The next must-see mosh-fest at the Sunset Strip nightclub is Mudvayne on Sunday night. The Peoria, Ill., band is warming up for the Summer Sanitarium tour with Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit.... Speaking of Limp Bizkit, singer Fred Durst is such a fan of the ink-slinging work of Shamrock Social Club tattoo artist Mark Mahoney, Durst sent him some home-made beef jerky whipped up by his mother, along with boxes of his favorite Jolly Rancher candy. What a guy....

Gang’s all there

Speaking of Freds, the latest Valley hotspot is Senor Fred, an upscale Mexican supper club styled after a 1940s gangster hang. The red-hot spot, owned by Max owner-chef Andre Guerrero, has already attracted the likes of Queen Latifah, k.d. lang, David Cassidy and Rachel Hunter.... Caught up with that cute midnight cowboy Waylon Payne, who may as well be Brad Pitt in “Thelma & Louise.” Payne was cruising record stores on the Strip looking to stock up on Henry Rollins albums. Payne’s debut album, “The Drifter,” is due in August.... We hear the upcoming Critter Jones album is muy caliente. The young Glendale band’s debut was produced by Blind Melon’s Chris Thorn and Brad Smith and picks up where the Eagles left off.... We hear Platinum Live in Studio City hosted a recent benefit for the Namaste Interfaith Center, where performer Sheila E was joined by the funkiest of royals, Prince.
