Watson Profit Rises on Strong Generic Sales

Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. said its third-quarter profit rose on strong sales of generic drugs and the company’s new patch for overactive bladders.
The Corona company reported earnings of $51.5 million, or 47 cents a share, compared with $40.7 million, or 38 cents, a year earlier. Revenue rose 17% to $358.8 million.
Watson’s shares rose $3.88, or 10%, to $42.32 on the NYSE.
