Stomp steps onto L.A. stage

Stomp, the popular post-industrial percussion dance troupe from Britain, will perform a North American premiere Sunday at the ninth annual American Choreography Awards at the Orpheum Theater, 842 S. Broadway, in downtown Los Angeles. Stomp creators Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas will attend the 6 p.m. show to receive an Innovator Award.
Choreographer Alan Johnson, whose credits include the original “Springtime for Hitler” number in the 1967 Mel Brooks film, “The Producers,” will be honored for lifetime achievement.
