Clear Channel Says U.S. Seeks Ad Information

Clear Channel Communications Inc., the largest U.S. owner of radio stations, said the Justice Department had subpoenaed information about gambling advertisements that ran on its stations.
The subpoena was issued Sept. 9 by the assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, the company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Clear Channel was asked to provide information about ads run on behalf of “offshore and/or online gambling businesses,” the company said in the filing.
Clear Channel said it was cooperating.
Shares of San Antonio-based Clear Channel rose $1.30 to $42.17 on the NYSE.
