Here’s the story

THE Oct. 29 review of the new cut of “Alien” omitted the “story by” credit given to Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett (“Return to the Nostromo,” by Manohla Dargis). We understand that credits can sometimes be an alien world to the general public. However, we hope that the L.A. Times recognizes the importance of the “story by” credit.
Generally, that credit is given to those whose original written work has created the basic narrative, idea, theme or outline indicating character development and action for the film.
