Supervisor Edges Toward Race for Mayor

From Staff and Wire Reports

County Supervisor Ron Roberts appears likely to challenge Mayor Dick Murphy's bid for re-election next year.

Roberts joins Port Commissioner Peter Q. Davis as a rival to Murphy, whose reelection seemed likely until recent wildfires exposed weaknesses in the city's fire protection system. All three are Republicans.

Roberts filed paperwork Monday allowing him to raise campaign contributions.
