Post Office Named in Memory of Marine
From Times staff reports
Relatives of a 21-year-old Marine who died in the war in Iraq said Wednesday that they were thrilled the post office in Duarte would be named in honor of their son.
“I’m so happy and so proud,” said Martha Flores, the mother of Lance Cpl. Francisco A. Martinez Flores. Flores was killed near Nasiriyah in Iraq on March 25. He was posthumously granted U.S. citizenship.
A bill to rename the post office was signed into law by President Bush on Veterans Day.
