A federal jury Thursday convicted three men in a Huntington Beach-based telemarketing scheme that defrauded golfers of more than $5 million.
Glenn Totten, 44, of Thousand Oaks, Rick Winters, 52, and Marvin Walker, 47, both of Costa Mesa, are to be sentenced March 8 in the fraud involving Professional Golf Products, accused of charging golfers up to $1,600 apiece to “try out” new golf clubs, then refusing to refund the money for returned clubs.
Six other defendants previously pleaded guilty in the case.
