A 27-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday morning outside a house on McKinley Avenue in Oxnard.
Sgt. Jim Seitz, a detective with the Oxnard Police Department, said the shooting did not appear to be gang-related. “We don’t know what the motive was,” Seitz said.
The Ventura County coroner’s office would not release the victim’s identity until his family was notified. The man died of multiple gunshot wounds.
The shooting occurred at 8:30 a.m. in the driveway of a house in the 400 block of North McKinley Avenue, Seitz said. No one was home at the time.
The death was the 44th homicide in Ventura County this year, and the 21st in Oxnard.
