The Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s fleet of trains and buses returned to regular schedules Saturday, after being paralyzed by a 35-day strike by transit workers.
“Everything is back to normal as of this morning,” MTA spokesman Jose Ubaldo announced Saturday.
As many as 400,000 commuters who depend on the regional bus, rail and subway system were affected by the strike, which ended last week when striking mechanics agreed to allow a panel of mediators to resolve health-care issues between the union and the transit agency.
