Faces of the Recall
Since August, Times staff photographer Brian Vander Brug has traveled the state photographing candidates in the recall election. Vander Brug gave each one the opportunity to bring a prop or adopt a pose symbolizing his or her candidacy. The candidates also provided short statements, excerpts of which accompany their pictures. Recall candidate -- The accompanying photo from Wednesday’s Faces of the Recall feature in Section A misidentified the recall candidate. He is Daniel W. Richards, a Republican businessman from Rancho Cucamonga, shown with his daughter, Kendra, left, and wife, Judy. Richards was mistakenly identified Wednesday as Gregory J. Pawlik. Richards’ statement to voters is: “This great social and economic opportunity known as California is being dismantled by Davis and Bustamante, who want to replace our freedom to succeed on our own terms with a government-driven economy mismanaged by career bureaucrats.”
