Burundi’s main rebel group signed a peace accord with the government aimed at ending a decade of civil war that has killed 300,000 people in the Central African country.

The Forces for the Defense of Democracy group signed the accord on its entry into government and the armed forces after three days of negotiations in the South African capital, Pretoria.

But another powerful Hutu rebel group, the extremist Forces for National Liberation, rejected the deal.
