From Staff and Wire Reports

A serial bank robber held up his third bank in 10 days Thursday, taking an undetermined amount of money from a Wells Fargo branch in Fountain Valley. The brazen bandit hit the bank at 10 a.m.

Police have labeled him the “Give-Me-More Bandit” because of the man’s customary demand for more money after a teller pushes wads of bills across the counter.

Newport Beach Police Sgt. Steve Shulman said the man has robbed four banks and a credit union in the last two months.

The suspect robbed a Wells Fargo branch in Costa Mesa on Aug. 6, the Orange County Credit Union in Anaheim on Aug. 28, and two Bank of America branches in Newport Beach on Sept. 30 and Tuesday, police said. Shulman said the robber has threatened tellers with a weapon in three of the robberies, but none has been displayed.

“Still, he should be considered armed and dangerous. He’s hitting financial institutions frequently, and this makes him dangerous,” Shulman said.
