Suspended Clarett Files Suit Against Ohio State
Suspended Ohio State tailback Maurice Clarett filed a federal suit Friday accusing the university of violating his privacy rights by giving police information from an NCAA investigation.
Clarett is seeking at least $2.5 million in damages from the university. He also asks for a court order preventing prosecutors from using the information as evidence in a misdemeanor case accusing him of filing a false police report.

The Atlantic Coast Conference was dropped as a defendant in a lawsuit by Big East schools over ACC expansion. The ruling leaves Miami as the lone defendant in a suit filed by four Big East schools accusing it of conspiring with the ACC to weaken the Big East.
The NCAA is continuing its investigation into office pools within the Washington athletic department, and Coach Keith Gilbertson confirmed he talked to NCAA and Pacific 10 Conference investigators this week.... Linebacker Will Derting, Washington State’s leading tackler, will rejoin the team Monday after being suspended after his arrest on a drunken driving charge.
