Bus Plunges Off Cliff; at Least 30 Killed

A passenger bus plunged off a 1,000-foot cliff in the Andes mountains in Peru, killing at least 30 people and injuring 17, rescue workers said.
The accident took place Friday on a mountain highway 150 miles northeast of Lima. The bus was headed from Huanuco to La Union, Huanuco Fire Chief Leoncio Pardave said.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
