UCLA Receives $18-Million Grant

The National Science Foundation has awarded UCLA a grant worth about $18 million to establish a new Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center, school officials said Monday.
The grant is aimed at finding affordable, industrial applications for research on microscopic electronics and biomedicine.
Grant funds will be distributed over five years, with the center receiving $2.8 million in the first year.
