Police Contract Talks With City Leaders Stall

From Times Wire Reports

Contract talks have stalled between the police union and the city, which is offering a 1% annual pay increase over two years.

After nearly a year of unsuccessful talks, the Lompoc Police Officers’ Assn., representing about 48 sworn officers and 13 dispatchers and jailers, said the offer was unacceptable.

The same pay raise was recently granted to firefighters and to city employees represented by Teamsters Union Local 381, and will be recommended for the city management and unrepresented employees during a City Council meeting Oct. 21.
