Ex-Professor Pleads Not Guilty in Porn Case
A former professor at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo pleaded not guilty in federal court to two charges of possessing child pornography.
Safwat Moustafa, 63, of Grover Beach was arrested Sept. 23 after a two-year investigation into pictures that were found on his Cal Poly-issued laptop in early 2001. Moustafa had been chairman of the mechanical engineering department at the university, until his resignation when the investigation started in August 2001. A trial date for Moustafa will be set next week by a federal magistrate.
