So Justin Timberlake’s partnered up with Art and Allan Davis to launch Chi, the new restaurant and bar at the Hyatt Hotel on Sunset Boulevard. Timberlake, who met the Davis brothers while kicking it at their nightclubs the Lounge and A.D., teamed up with them for the Hyatt project, which looks like it’s gonna be the big kahuna on the block. Timberlake’s a huge fan of dim sum and has already popped in to sample delectables off the East-meets-West menu.

Chi is scheduled to open this weekend, and the buzz on the new Dodd Mitchell-designed spot is “1930s Shanghai-meets-’Blade Runner.’ ” Kung-pow....

And speaking of designer Dodd Mitchell, the hot party crew, the Alliance, threw a big bash on Tuesday to celebrate the grand reopening of Le Dome, which Mitchell just completed renovating. The star-studded event was fueled by famed New York DJ Frankie Inglese.... Boy that Mandy Moore’s a tall drink of water. The lovely young singer was backstage at the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, and I couldn’t help but look down at her shoes. She sprouted 5 feet 10 in flats, no less.

But the big excitement was watching the beloved L.A. boys, who’d stormed the Forum the night before, rock out on their home turf. Sporting cropped pants with the word “MARS” printed on his rear-end, Anthony Kiedis ruled the school with his poetic lyrics and wicked-wild dance moves. Decked out in a glowing skeleton costume, Flea played his heart out and guitarist John Frusciante gave an equally passionate performance. The crowd could barely contain its joy, giving the band a standing-O from the moment it hit the stage. You know, even for a world-class rock band, there’s no place like home, homies.

You can shake, rattle and roll at the Derby on Halloween, when the Velvet Hammer Burlesque troupe returns to the Los Feliz nightclub with a cavalcade of hot mamas starring in a coolish ghoulish production titled, “Passage a L’Enfer” (Passage to Hell). Is it hot in here, or is just me?
