Mother Charged With Murder in Kids’ Deaths

A woman accused of drowning her two young children in a bathtub before a failed attempt on her own life was arrested on murder charges.
Rebekah Amaya faces two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Grace Headlee, 4, and Gabriel Amaya, 5 months, according to Lamar Police Capt. Rick Copess.
Amaya, a registered nurse, was being returned to Lamar from Colorado Springs, where she was treated after she cut her wrists in the suicide attempt.
