81-Year-Old Hiker Rescued From Slope

An 81-year-old hiker who lost his way was rescued from the side of an embankment Monday after he had spent a night stranded on the slope, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Rescuers discovered the man in the 3900 block of Alta Mesa Drive around 1:10 p.m. The man, who had become disoriented, was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in good condition, authorities said. He was not identified.
