Stars Pose No Problem for Hasek, Red Wings

Dominik Hasek made 23 saves for his first shutout since returning from his one-year retirement and Steve Yzerman scored twice as the Detroit Red Wings beat the Dallas Stars, 4-0, Friday night at Detroit.

It was the 62nd shutout of Hasek’s career. The Red Wings set a franchise record with their 15th consecutive home win. They had 14 in a row during the 1964-65 season.

New Jersey 2, Pittsburgh 1 -- Brian Rafalski and Brian Gionta scored their first goals of the season as the Devils’ top line produced both goals at Pittsburgh.

Mario Lemieux got the 1,698th point of his career by setting up Pittsburgh’s goal and needs two points to become the sixth player in NHL history with 1,700 points.

Minnesota 4, Florida 3 -- Alexandre Daigle capped a three-goal flurry in the second period and Wes Walz scored a third-period goal as the Wild won at Sunrise, Fla. Minnesota scored three times in a 7:33 span to take a 3-2 lead. Richard Park scored 4:43 in, followed by Antti Laaksonen at 8:18 and Daigle’s power-play backhander.

St. Louis 2, Calgary 1 -- Jeff Heerema scored 46 seconds into the third period to give the Blues the win at Calgary. Doug Weight also scored for St. Louis, which is 4-2-0-1 after playing six of its first seven games on the road.
