Police Kill Man Fleeing Shooting at Nightclub
Police shot and killed a man early Sunday after he raced from the scene of a shooting outside a nightclub and led officers on a high-speed chase.
Officers shot the man, whose name was not released, about 1:30 a.m. as he ran from a car he crashed in a central Fresno neighborhood, police Lt. Herman Silva said.
“I ducked down when they started shooting,” said Frederick Hernandez, who watched events from a balcony overlooking the shooting scene.
“The bullets were like flying,” he said, adding that he heard about 10 shots. “People were terrified, scared. Nobody knew what to think. You couldn’t tell where the bullets were going.”
