Huge Fire Guts Site of Luxury Apartments
A massive fire engulfed hundreds of luxury apartments under construction in Las Vegas Thursday night, causing millions of dollars in damage but no injuries, authorities said.
The four-alarm fire broke about 8:30 p.m. in southeast Las Vegas and quickly spread throughout the sprawling construction site, sending flames hundreds of feet into the air.
Clark County fire spokesman Bob Leinbach said about 100 firefighters battled the inferno for more than two hours before they could bring it under control.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
