Harley party rolls into town

Bikers who didn’t have the chance to gear up and get down at Harley-Davidson’s blowout 100th anniversary bash in Milwaukee can rev up and ride over to the local version Sunday in San Dimas.

There won’t be any fireworks, but the fringe will still fly at this daylong event, which features sneak peeks at Harley’s new 2004 models as well as displays of antique motorcycles, vintage woodies, classic cars and hot rods. Live music will be provided, courtesy of the Brian Auger’s Oblivion Express, Eric Burdon & the Animals and Mountain -- the 1970s anthem rockers who brought us the classic “Mississippi Queen.”

“If you give a biker a destination, some good food, some hard rock

Harley’s hometown event drew more than 300,000 people. Quaid anticipates about 7,500 attendees this weekend. That’s just a fraction of the bikers in L.A., but it should be enough rumbling tail pipes to keep diehard fans happy.
