Get a doughnut, get validated

I was mildly amused by Paul Brownfield’s “ ‘For My Eleven-Fifty’ ” (Aug. 21) about his adventures at the Grove movie theaters. It would be tempting to attribute his woes to viewing a movie about the “oppressions of the Roman Catholic Church as exemplified by the Asylums in Ireland,” but that was his choice, was it not?

I cannot let pass, however, Brownfield’s complaints about the parking fee he paid. At every single Farmers Market parking entrance Farmers Market posts the fact that Grove theater validations are not accepted. The same information is also posted at every Farmers Market parking exit, so Brownfield could have reduced his parking cost a lot simply by picking up an apple, ice cream cone or doughnut at the market before he left.
