RECALL Q&A;

All the candidates who qualified for the Oct. 7 recall ballot were allowed to submit statements of up to 250 words to the secretary of state’s office for use in the voter guide. The guide was sent out to the state’s 15 million voters last week. But the state charged candidates $10 per word for the statements to cover the cost of printing and mailing the booklets. In the end, 104 have statements, 31 do not.

Recall Q&A; -- The Recall Q&A; in Tuesday’s Section A incorrectly said that all candidates in the recall election were entitled to submit statements to the statewide voter guide. In fact, only candidates who accepted the state’s voluntary $10-million spending limit could submit statements for the voter guide.
