Car Runs Off Road, Ignites Brush Fire

A one-car accident Monday evening on the eastbound Riverside Freeway sent two people to a hospital with minor injuries and started a small brush fire, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.
The car went over the side of the freeway east of Anaheim Hills near the county line about 8 p.m., said Officer Stacy Willits, knocking out a camera and electrical box and igniting a fire on the side of the road.
The driver and a passenger were taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana. Their names were not released.
Firefighters contained the blaze, which covered about a 300-foot length of hillside, in less than an hour.
