So Significant, the fastest qualifier, and nine other 3-year-old fillies will race tonight in the $143,200 La Primera Del Ano Derby at 400 yards.

Trained by Concepcion Balderrama for owner Esmeralda Flores, So Significant, a Texas-bred daughter of Relegate, won her trial by a neck, completing the 400 yards in 19.86 seconds. It was her third win in 10 starts.

Feet Of Flames didn’t run as fast in her trial (20.02) but won easier than did So Significant. The Corona Cartel filly won by 1 3/4 lengths.
