BASEBALL

* Chad Boyd, Woodland Hills El Camino Real: Went four for four with three home runs and six runs batted in, and pitched a one-hitter with five strikeouts for the Conquistadores in a 15-1 upset of No. 23 West Hills Chaminade in the Chatsworth tournament. The game was called after the fifth inning due to the 10-run mercy rule.

* Nick DiNapoli, Ventura Buena: Hit three home runs on the day as the No. 25-ranked Bulldogs defeated Oxnard Channel Islands in both games of a nonleague doubleheader, 10-5, 23-8.

SOFTBALL

* Veronica Barth and Kelley Corras, West Hills Chaminade: Barth pitched a complete-game shutout, striking out seven, and Corras scored the winning run on a bunt by freshman Danielle Zymkowitz in the bottom of the ninth for the Eagles in a 1-0 upset of No. 12 Sun Valley Village Christian in the quarterfinals of the San Fernando Valley tournament.

* Dana Crucil, Orange El Modena: Pitched a two-hitter, and Alex Ramirez had a double and one run batted in for the Vanguards in a 3-0 upset of No. 14 Valencia in a ninth-place semifinal game of the Irvine Woodbridge tournament.

* Danira Iolamo, Carson: Threw a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts for the host No. 8 Colts in an 8-0 victory over Redondo in the second game of an intersectional doubleheader. Carson also won the first game, 5-1.
