Ducking Serious Issues
The Times reports that the California Senate just approved a measure to ban the force-feeding of ducks to make foie gras (April 27). If anyone still wanted more proof that we need to go to a part-time Legislature, there it is. With all the gravely serious problems facing California, foie gras is not one of them.
No wonder The Times Poll shows how much the public disapproves of the Legislature (April 25).
