Share

Mariachi meets bhangra, Irish step-dancing and the hula at the 20th annual Children’s Festival of the Arts. The festival, presented by the Hollywood Arts Council at DeLongpre Park from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, will celebrate a variety of cultures with performances, workshops and more.

Mariachi Oro Angelino, a 14-member band of junior high schoolers, will open the festivities with a 45-minute show at noon. Other performers include Everything Celtic, an Irish folk dancing and music group; the Lotus Foundation, a troupe of Chinese folk dancers; a Polynesian dance revue; children’s entertainer Greggy Dee; and the Indian dance troupe West Coast Bhangra.

Children may participate in workshops that let them create decorative flags, carnival masks, garden mobiles, puppets and more. Food such as hot dogs, smoothies and shaved ice will be on sale.
