Blast at Parade Kills at Least 10
From Times Wire Reports
A bomb exploded at an Independence Day parade in northeastern India today, killing at least 10 people.
The outlawed United Liberation Front of Assam was suspected of being behind the blast, said Assam state’s police inspector-general, Khagen Sharma.
India’s northeast is home to dozens of insurgent groups, some demanding more autonomy and others secession. The groups accuse New Delhi of plundering the area’s resources and flooding it with outsiders.
