The Defense Department last week also identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq:

Dustin R. Fitzgerald, 22, of Huber Heights, Ohio; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Fitzgerald was killed Wednesday in a noncombat-related vehicle incident in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

James Michael Goins, 23, of Bonner Springs, Kan.; second lieutenant, Army. Goins was killed in enemy action Aug. 15 in Najaf. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

David M. Heath, 30, of LaPorte, Ind.; sergeant, Army. Heath was killed Monday when his patrol came under a small-arms and rocket-propelled grenade attack in Sadr City. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Division, 3rd Brigade, 1st Armored Division at Ft. Riley, Kan.

John R. Howard, 26, of Covington, Va.; staff sergeant, Marine Corps. Howard was one of two Marines killed Aug. 11 in a helicopter crash in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 166 (Reinforced), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at the Marine Corps Air Station in Miramar, Calif.

Tavon L. Hubbard, 24, of Reston, Va.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Hubbard was one of two Marines killed Aug. 11 in a helicopter crash in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the Command Element, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Jacob D. Martir, 21, of Norwich, Conn.; specialist, Army. Martir was killed Wednesday when his patrol came under small-arms fire in Sadr City. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Brad P. McCormick, 23, of Overton, Tenn.; corporal, Marine Corps Reserve. McCormick was killed Thursday in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Corps Reserve in Nashville.

Nicholas B. Morrison, 23, of Carlisle, Pa.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Morrison was killed Aug. 13 in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Harvey E. Parkerson III, 27, of Yuba City, Calif.; sergeant, Marine Corps. Parkerson was killed Wednesday in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) at Camp Pendleton.

Geoffrey Perez, 24, of Los Angeles, private first class, Marine Corps. Perez was one of two Marines killed Aug. 15 in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Caleb J. Powers, 21, of Manfield, Wash.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Powers was killed Tuesday in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton.

Henry C. Risner, 26, of Golden, Colo.; private first class, Army. Risner was killed Wednesday when his checkpoint in Baghdad came under small-arms fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Neil Anthony Santoriello, 24, of Verona, Pa.; first lieutenant, Army. Santoriello was killed Aug. 13 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his mounted reconnaissance patrol vehicle in Khaldiya. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 34th Armor, 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division at Ft. Riley, Kan.

Brandon R. Sapp, 21, of Lake Worth, Fla.; private first class, Army. Sapp was killed Aug. 15 when his Bradley fighting vehicle struck an improvised explosive device in Najaf. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Daniel Michael Shepherd, 23, of Elyria, Ohio; sergeant, Army. Shepherd was killed Aug. 15 when his Bradley fighting vehicle struck an improvised explosive device in Ramadi. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment at Ft. Riley, Kan.

Brandon T. Titus, 20, of Boise, Idaho; specialist, Army. Titus was killed Tuesday when an improvised explosive device detonated near his checkpoint in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Mark Anthony Zapata, 27, of Edinburg, Texas; specialist, Army. Zapata was killed in enemy action Aug. 15 in Najaf. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.
