Cisco Systems Inc., the world’s largest maker of computer-networking equipment, will buy closely held P-Cube Inc. for $200 million in cash and options to add products that help customers sell services over the Internet.

P-Cube, which is based in Sunnyvale, Calif., makes hardware and software that lets online-service providers manage how they deliver games, video and phone calling. The purchase will result in a fiscal first-quarter expense of 1 cent a share or less, San Jose-based Cisco said.

Cisco shares rose 30 cents to $19.18 on Nasdaq.
