The Simpson sisters continue to rule the pop charts. Jessica is represented on the nation’s No. 1 album this week, the latest volume in the “Now That’s What I Call Music!” hit compilation series, while Ashlee’s debut CD follows at No. 2.

Volume 16 of the “Now” series, which entered the charts at No. 1 on Aug. 4, returned to the top spot Wednesday after selling another 207,000 copies. That brings to 1.2 million the total sales of the collection, which also features singles by such artists as OutKast and Britney Spears.

Ashlee Simpson’s “Autobiography” album sold 164,000 copies last week, bringing its total to 1.4 million copies. The CD entered the charts at No. 1 on July 28 and, except for the two weeks in which “Now” has been on top, it has been No. 1 each week since.
