Hundreds of people, mostly mothers and many toting small children, marched across the Brooklyn Bridge on Friday to protest against President Bush.

A group calling itself Mothers Against Bush, or MOB, organized the march, but the crowd that gathered at Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn included many fathers as well.

Bush “has no thought for the future. He just trashes things for the good of the old boys,” said Cynthia Ruse.

Ruse marched with her husband, Travis, and daughters, ages 4 and 2.

“I’m worried about my children’s future.”

Asked to describe her main criticism of Bush, Ruse said, “I wouldn’t know where to start.” The family stroller bore a sign depicting Bush as a bad apple.

The group that started with a group of mothers in Maryland claims 10,000 members in all 50 states -- including Republicans, Democrats and independents.

The protesters carried buttons that said “Join the MOB” -- along with diapers, baby food, and red, white and blue balloons.

A pair of 4-year-olds carrying a “Kids for Kerry” banner led the marchers.

“I’m not a mother, but I don’t want Maya to grow up in a world where the only solution to problems is war,” said Noah Haiduc-Dale, who walked with his 3-month-old daughter.
