Saint Buddy in Mix Again
If nothing else in his 13-race career, Saint Buddy has been good at burning money.
A 4-year-old Saint Ballado colt trained by Rafael Becerra, Saint Buddy has lost seven in a row. In five of those losses, the gray’s odds have been 5-2 or less.
In today’s seventh race at Hollywood Park, Saint Buddy is the 9-5 favorite on Russ Hudak’s morning line against only four others in the $42,000 optional claimer at 1 1/16 miles. The race is part of a pick six with a carry-over of $87,783.
Race of the day: Electrical Carlita will break from the rail against five opponents in today’s eighth at Aqueduct, a $54,000 optional claimer at six furlongs. The race is part of a pick six carry-over of $42,623. Aqueduct had to cancel its card on Wednesday because of heavy rain and high winds.
One for the road: Bellagio Bob drops in class for his first start since April 18 in today’s fourth at the Fair Grounds. Elvis Perrodin will ride the 3-year-old in the $15,000 claimer at 5 1/2 furlongs.
Exotically speaking: A pick three using Don’tcallmefrisco and Tizaflyin in the sixth, Capitano and Forty Suertudo in the seventh and Chasenthebluesway, C’est Lulu and Mysterious Phoenix in the eighth.
Winners: Previous day/meet total: 2/54. Money: Previous day/meet total: $9.40/$314.40. Total money bet: $360.
