Hollywood Park will prove it still has a turf course when two races are run over the layout today.

Because of recent rain, there has been no grass racing locally since Saturday.

The two turf contests on the card are a $40,000 optional claimer at 5 1/2 furlongs and a $39,000 allowance for California-breds at one mile. Both races are part of a pick six with a carry-over of $77,827.

In the sprint for fillies and mares, which is the fifth race on the program, Moss Rose will be looking for her second win in a row for owners Bob and Beverly Lewis and trainer Bob Baffert.

In the seventh, T.A. Thomas Alan will stretch out against 11 others in a wide-open race.

Race of the day: Trickey Trevor will try for his third win in a row and 11th in 22 starts in today’s seventh at Golden Gate Fields. Re-claimed for $40,000 by owner-trainer Bill Morey out of a three-length win at Hollywood Park on Nov. 17, the 5-year-old Demaloot Demashoot horse will be ridden by Roberto Gonzalez in the $33,000 optional claimer at six furlongs.

One for the road: Connie Belle should relish the stretch out to a mile and 70 yards in her second career start for trainer Bill Mott in today’s fourth at Aqueduct. Julian Pimentel will ride the 2-year-old daughter of Storm Cat, who adds Lasix after finishing well at seven furlongs on Nov. 26. Eight others are scheduled to go in the $42,000 maiden contest.

Exotically speaking: A pick three using Girl Warrior in the second, Decisional, Viva El Gato, Hot and Alferrari in the third and Cronenbold, Seattle Souvenir, Consistent and Exclamation in the fourth.

Winners: Previous day/meet total: 3/73. Money: Previous day/meet total: $12.40/$407.40. Total money bet: $460.
