Maybe It Should Be Chow’s-Man Trophy

Share

Matt Leinart, just like Carson Palmer, more than deserves his Heisman accolades but none of this would have happened without Norm Chow. Palmer was a floundering and underachieving quarterback, and Leinart had never taken a major college snap, but when Chow got his hands on them, they turned into world beaters.

Whether Chow is head-coaching material is still open to debate, but there is no doubt that he is without peer in his current incarnation.

Re Norm Chow’s “disappointment” at his failure to get the job at Stanford: I could write a treatise on why he would be foolish to leave what might be the best job in all of college football, but given the truncated “Viewpoint” let me just say, “Be careful what you wish for -- you might get it.”
