Warning Issued About Bacteria-Tainted Water
From Times Wire Reports
Orland officials are advising residents to boil water before drinking it or brushing their teeth after samples from the municipal water system tested positive for fecal coliform bacteria.
The presence of the bacteria indicates that the water may be contaminated with human or animal waste, officials said.
The water is safe for bathing, said City Manager Joe Riker. Chlorine levels in the water supply have been increased, he said.
