Glen Murray scored three goals in a game for the fifth time in his NHL career, to lead the Boston Bruins over the Pittsburgh Penguins, 4-1, Sunday at Boston.

All of his goals came in the third period. Murray has scored six of the Bruins’ last seven goals and has come up with the game-winning goal in each of their last three games. Before that, he had gone 15 games with only three goals.

“You ask anyone, when you get a couple of goals in a row it seems like you find the right spot,” Murray said.

Murray’s 19th goal of the season came on a power play, when his wrist shot went into the net from the left side. It tied the score, at 1-1. He broke the tie when he powered the puck into the net from just in front of Penguin goalie Sebastien Caron. Murray’s third goal, an empty netter, came with one minute left in the game. Boston’s Brian Rolston added his 15th goal of the season, also on an empty netter, with 23 seconds left.

In the first period, Aleksey Morozov had given the Penguins a 1-0 lead on a power play.

Canadiens 6, Blackhawks 4 -- Niklas Sundstrom had a goal and two assists at Montreal as the Canadiens spoiled Chicago Coach Brian Sutter’s 1,000th regular-season game.

Patrice Brisebois, Sheldon Souray, Jan Bulis, Steve Begin and Mike Ribeiro also scored for Montreal, which won for the second time in three games.

Sutter, who also coached St. Louis, Boston and Calgary, became the 10th coach in NHL history to reach 1,000 games.
