A man resembling the suspect in a Simi Valley sexual assault has been spotted around Ventura, police said Friday.
The man is described as white, about 21 years old, 5 feet 9 and 150 pounds with blue or green eyes and brown hair.
Ventura police have received nearly a dozen calls from residents who think they might have spotted the man in the city’s east end or near the Pacific View Mall, Lt. Quinn Fenwick said. The man is suspected of being the knife-wielding assailant who attacked a Simi Valley woman in her home Jan. 26.
The person may have said he was selling magazine subscriptions or soliciting donations for a soccer team, Fenwick said.
Anyone who sees anything suspicious is asked to call Ventura police immediately at 650-8010, Fenwick said.
Anyone with information about the Simi Valley incident should call police there at 583-6950 or Crime Stoppers at 494-8255.
