Kodak, Verizon in Cellphone Alliance

Eastman Kodak Co. formed a camera-mobile telephone alliance with Verizon Wireless and introduced four new digital cameras as part of its plan to capture more digital sales.

Verizon, the largest U.S. cellular carrier, agreed to sell Kodak’s service that lets users of mobile phones with cameras view, share and store digital photos. Kodak also will offer new EasyShare cameras, including a 6-megapixel model for $499.

Kodak said in November it would start partnerships with wireless operators to add digital products and services.

The Rochester, N.Y.-based company already has agreements with Cingular Wireless, the second-largest U.S. mobile-telephone company; AT&T; Wireless Services Inc., the third-largest; and Nokia, the world’s biggest maker of mobile phones.

Kodak shares fell 22 cents to $29.15 on the NYSE.
