Guard Noelle Quinn scored 24 points, setting a UCLA freshman record with five consecutive games with 20 points or more, to lead the Bruins to a 73-64 victory over Arizona State in a Pacific 10 Conference game Saturday in front of 2,327 in Pauley Pavilion.
Quinn, the former Bishop Montgomery High star who scored a career-high 31 points in the Bruins' 87-68 victory over Arizona Thursday night, made six of 12 shots and made all 12 of her free throw attempts to extended her streak to 30. Quinn has scored in double figures in 15 consecutive games. With two more free throws, she will tie the Bruins' season record of 32 in a row, set last season by Michelle Greco.
UCLA (14-10, 9-6), which made its first 26 free throws and 31 of 34 overall, extended its winning streak to five.
Quinn scored six points during a 13-2 run that gave the Bruins their biggest lead of the first half, 28-19. They had a 38-30 halftime lead that was extended to as many as 16 points at 54-38 on a layup by Lisa Willis with 13 minutes 3 seconds to play.
Arizona State (15-8, 9-5) had four players score in double figures, led by Kylan Loney at 16 points
