‘Lords’ of editing win ACE awards

“The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” were named the best edited features of 2003 at the ACE Eddie Awards, given Sunday at the Beverly Hilton by the American Cinema Editors.

“The Lord of the Rings,” edited by Jamie Selkirk, won in the drama category, while “Pirates,” cut by Craig Wood, Stephen Rivkin and Arthur Schmidt, won for comedy.

“Spellbound,” edited by Yana Gorskaya, took the honors in the documentary field.

TV winners were “Caesar” (Mark Conte), “Angels in America” (John Bloom and Antonia Van Drimmelen), “24” (Scott Powell) and “Will & Grace” (Peter Chakos).
