David Lucas and Chris Stephens each had 22 points and the Oregon State Beavers upset the No. 14-ranked Arizona Wildcats, 90-84, Saturday night at Corvallis, Ore. It was Oregon State’s first victory over a ranked team since 2000, when it beat then-No. 3 Arizona.

“Well, we can sum it up in a few words, I think,” Arizona Coach Lute Olson said. “The team that played the hardest won. Obviously they were better prepared than we were, because they came out and gave it 100% for the whole ball game.”

The Wildcats, 17-7 overall and 9-6 in the Pac-10, had won three in a row going in to play the Beavers (11-13, 4-9).

Arizona, which looked fatigued much of the game, was coming off a 100-87 win over Oregon on Thursday. Salim Stoudamire, who had a career-high 37 points in the win over the Ducks, got into trouble with three fouls in the first half Saturday and finished with only 12 points.

Arizona State 86, Oregon 75 -- Ike Diogu had 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Sun Devils (10-14, 4-11) at Eugene, Ore. Arizona State made 14 of 20 free throws in the final 2:09. Luke Jackson had 16 points and 10 assists for Oregon (12-9, 7-7), which has lost three straight home games for the first time since the 2000-01 season.
