Oregon Surprises No. 10 Stanford, 67-66

Corrie Mizusawa’s layup with 8.2 seconds left gave Oregon a 67-66 home victory Thursday over 10th-ranked Stanford, ending the Ducks’ six-game losing streak against the Cardinal at Eugene.

Mizusawa hit two free throws to pull the Ducks to 66-65 with 21.8 seconds left. Nicole Powell of Stanford missed a free throw before Mizusawa raced down the court for her game-winning basket. Oregon is 13-14 overall and 5-12 in the Pacific 10 Conference. Stanford falls to 20-6, 13-4.

No. 2 Tennessee 93, Arkansas 71 -- The Lady Vols (24-2, 13-0 Southeastern) had only eight players available but never allowed the Razorbacks (16-10, 5-8) within 20 points in the second half at Fayetteville, Ark.

No. 4 Purdue 84, Iowa 55 -- Shereka Wright had 21 points to lead the Boilermakers (24-2, 14-1 Big Ten) over the Hawkeyes (15-11, 9-6) at West Lafayette, Ind., for their 15th straight victory.

No. 6 Penn State 63, No. 22 Michigan State 51 -- The Lions (22-4, 14-1) are a home win away from the outright Big Ten title after the victory at East Lansing, Mich., over the Spartans (19-7, 9-6).

No. 7 Louisiana Tech 83, University of Texas El Paso 60 -- The win kept the Lady Techsters (21-2, 14-1 Western Athletic) tied with Rice for first place. The Miners (14-11, 9-7) shot 34% in the home loss.

No. 11 North Carolina 71, Florida St. 58 -- The Tar Heels (21-5, 11-4 Atlantic Coast) never trailed at Tallahassee, Fla., and beat the Seminoles (14-13, 7-9) for the 15th time in 16 meetings.

No. 25 Ohio State 76, No. 12 Minnesota 62 -- The Buckeyes (18-8, 10-5 Big Ten) had 16 steals and forced 19 turnovers to defeat the Gophers (20-6, 9-6) at Minneapolis.

No. 15 Louisiana State 85, Mississippi 68 -- The Tigers (22-5, 10-3 SEC) won for the fourth time in five games. The loss, at Baton Rouge, La., was the fourth straight for Ole Miss (15-12, 6-7).

No. 18 Auburn 72, Alabama 40 -- Le’Coe Willingham had 17 points for the Tigers (21-6, 9-4 SEC) at Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Tide (12-14, 4-9) was led by Katie Sipe and Monique Bivins with 12 points each.

Florida 69, No. 19 Georgia 59 -- The Gators (17-9, 7-6 SEC) ended a four-game losing streak. Christi Thomas had 20 points for the Bulldogs (18-8, 7-6) at Gainesville, Fla.

No. 24 Vanderbilt 87, Mississippi State 64 -- At Nashville, the Commodores (19-7, 7-6 SEC) topped the Bulldogs (12-14, 6-7) for their third straight win after four consecutive losses.
